LoRusso’s Cucina, a beloved Italian eatery in St. Louis, MO since 1986, is set to close its doors for good. Owner Terri LoRusso announced that the restaurant will cease operations on September 29. She and her late husband, Rich, founded the restaurant, which has been a local staple for decades.
Terri LoRusso pointed to numerous challenges as reasons for the closure, including the recent pandemic and the passing of her husband last year. These difficulties, compounded by rising supply chain costs, made it financially unfeasible to continue without incurring debt—something LoRusso was keen to avoid.
Though she considered selling LoRusso’s, she ultimately decided against it, fearing that new management might not uphold the high standards of food and service that have been the restaurant’s hallmark.
